Columbia starts next month with SME focus

The city of Columbia is celebrating Small Business Week from May 4 to 8, and is presented by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

The week will start off with a continental breakfast and a ribbon cutting at a local business. Throughout the week, the five finalists for Small Business of the Year will be hosting free seminars during which they will talk about their business. There will be one of these a day and this will be part of the judging in order to name the winner. The nominees for the award were chosen by their peers and then the finalists were picked by a chamber committee.

The week will finish off with the Small Business Week Award Luncheon. Guests will enjoy lunch and can win door prizes. Since this is a networking opportunity for local business leaders, there will be plenty of time to talk about business and to exchange digital Business Cards.

It is likely that several of those who plan to attend the luncheon or the five seminars will be placing a new business card printing order from their favorite Columbia Print company.

The Small Business Week Award Luncheon will be held at the Tiger Hotel on May 8 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for Columbia Chamber of Commerce members and $25 for nonmembers. All tickets are $25 after May 6 and tables for 10 are available for $180.
