Columbia is set to celebrate the nation’s birthday with a bang, and the party will be filled with light and sound.
The city is marking Independence Day with Fire in the Sky, which will be on offer at the Amphitheater in Stephens Lake Park. It is on offer thanks to the efforts of its Parks and Recreation Depart as well as supporting sponsors.
The fun will kick off in the evening with live music, along with activities for the kids such as games, crafts, and inflatables. Food trucks will be on site, and once the sun goes down, the fireworks will go up, set to a special musical score that will be simulcast on KBXR 102.3.
Several local media outlets, as well as community service groups and businesses, have chosen to provide financial support to the celebration in what will be its 73rd year. There will be several parking options for the public.
Large community events often attract plenty of attendees eager to have a fun time. Banners and other custom decor can be a simple way to add an extra touch of fun to a special occasion, and can be readily prepared by area banner printing companies.
