Columbia residents who would like to add a local touch to their garden may want to save the date for a horticultural sale.
The Missouri Prairie Foundation, along with at least six area nurseries and not-for-profit groups, will be hosting a sale that will put native species in the spotlight. It will be filled with plants with a local provenance, and perennials, annuals, and seeds will all be on offer.
Those who are interested can do their shopping in person or online, and anyone who chooses to place their order ahead of time will be able to take advantage of the pickup service. The vendors will have staff or volunteers on site to answer questions and aid in selection, and while some may be able to process credit card payments, others will only be able to accept cash or Checks.
Hosting an activity like this gives a local community of horticultural businesses a way to help bring native pants back into the landscape. Providing shoppers with printed care guides will help to get these new additions to a garden off to a solid start, and these can be produced by brochure printing companies.
The Columbia Naive Plant Sale is set to be hosted at Bass Pro Shops on May 22. It will open at 10:00 am, and additional information can be found on the Missouri Prairie Foundation’s website.
