Columbia returns to the big screen
The True/False Film Festival is back in Columbia for another year, running for three days in March.
This year's theme is ‘Magic/Realism’ and all the films will be documentaries (or nonfiction). The films will be screened at various venues in downtown Columbia, including the Missouri Theatre, The Picturehouse, and the Ragtag Cinema. In addition to the films, there will be several musical showcases and concerts, workshops, question and answer sessions with the filmmakers after each film. Parties will include one with a masquerade theme.
Special events include the March March Parade, in which everyone can participate. The True Life Run is another option, for which registration fees are $25. There are also several events planned for youth too.
Sponsorships can be purchased for $2,000 up to $25,000, and all sponsors will have the opportunity to distribute promotional products to attendees of the films. The high-end sponsor will also be mentioned in posters advertising the festival. Organizers may contact Columbia poster printing services to provide them with those items.
The True/False Film Festival is happening from March 5 to 8. A full pass is available, which includes all films screened, all events, and parties, while individual tickets can be purchased for $10 each. Call 573-442-TRUE to find out more about this event, such as the films schedule and location of the parties, showcases, and workshops.
