What's Happening in Columbia, MO…

Columbia plans salute to companion animals

To many, pets are full members of the family, and a Columbia celebration will help their “parents” provide them with top care.

Pets and the people who love them will be the focus of the function planned by Unchained Melodie’s Dog Rescue. A variety of other local rescue groups have been invited to join in the fun, and everyone who brings a donation of non-perishable pet food will be granted free entry.

The four-hour event will give area residents the chance to learn more about how to keep their furry, feathery, or scaly friend healthy and happy. There will be an assortment of displays and vendor booths, and area veterinarians and animal experts will be sharing their knowledge. Anyone interested in adding a new member to the family can connect with a local rescue.

To thank those who bring a donation, the organizers will be distributing swag bags of promotional products to those who do so. A printer can custom design a range of corporate gifts for a specific activity, and these may be presented to sponsors or used as draw prizes.

Columbia’s proud pet parents are encouraged to drop by the Pet Health Fair planned for Sunday, May 25, between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The venue for the function is located at 4107 White Tiger Lane.
