Columbia fundraiser to take on the cold

Columbia’s adrenaline junkies, and anyone else who wants to help athletes reach their goals, have been asked to brave the cold and take the plunge.

SOMO, a group that provides opportunities for those with intellectual challenges to engage in sport, is hosting its Columbia Polar Plunge next month. The participants will run into the icy water at Bass Pro Shops, and those who are interested can choose to get involved on their own or as part of a team.

The organizers explained that to help keep the fundraiser running smoothly and allow for social distancing, each person will be asked to reserve a timeslot. Upon arrival, they will register, enter the water, and then redress when ready and exit the area. Diving is strictly not permitted, and the event is restricted to those who are at least 10 years old.

Recognizing the generosity of spirit in the people who take part in this type of activity is often an important step in planning the event. A printer can offer a range of Corporate Gifts that can be customized and then presented to each participant to thank them for their support.

The Columbia Polar Plunge will be supporting the community’s special athletes on Saturday, March 13. Timeslots for the day can be reserved between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
