Columbia festival to offer icy fun

The hot days of summer can be tailor made for an ice-cold treat, and this is the sort of fun to be had during a special event planned for Columbia.

The city will be welcoming Popsicle Fest in mid-July, marking the 100th anniversary of this popular frozen treat. It will also showcase the area’s history throughout the past century, and its agenda is filled with all-ages fun.

The festivities will be on offer in Nifong Park and Boone History and Cultural Center, and the list of activities includes live music and other entertainment. The crowd can browse through the museum demonstrations and exhibits, and there will also be games the whole family can enjoy. Food trucks will roll in for the occasion, and everyone can cool off with a free popsicle.

A themed event may call for decor that helps to build the desired atmosphere. A poster printing company will be happy to help, and can work closely with its clients to make sure they have the decorations and other materials they need for the function to be a success.

This summer celebration will be open from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 13. There is no charge to attend the event. More details another day can be found by visiting the Boone County Historical Society’s website.
