Columbia will be celebrating the arrival of another spring with an evening of friendship and song, and all are welcome whether they want to sing or just listen.
The full moon in March, which goes by a variety of names, plays a significant role in many cultures, and this celebration will welcome the change of seasons from the chill of winter, to the warmth of spring. The organizer of the activity explained that this year will be even more special than usual as it will be a “super moon”, which occurs when the Earth and moon make a close approach.
The registrants for the Moon Chant are reminded to wear bright colors and also to bring along a donation for the local food bank. They will meet at Riechmann Indoor Pavilion, and the activity will take place indoors at a location to be disclosed at a later date. No experience is needed to enjoy the activity, and while there is no fee to take part, donations will be welcome.
The vocal portion of the evening will be led by Margaret Waddell, and handouts will be distributed so everyone can join in if they wish. Stationery printers will be able to provide such items.
The Full Worm Moon Chant for Peace will be a joint effort of Margaret Waddell and PrimordialSounding. It will take place on March 28, 2021.
