Columbia banquet recognizes agricultural excellence

A Columbia event is about to pay tribute to the area's agricultural sector, and this year will be the 65th anniversary of this special occasion.

The annual Agricultural Recognition Banquet is on the way for the Northeast Event Center at Northeast Regional Park, and a long list of local businesses and organizations have chosen to support the celebration. Single and table tickets are available, and a portion of the proceeds from full table bookings will be donated to the scholarship fund of the Columbia Chamber Foundation.

Along with the banquet, the activity will offer networking and connection building. It will provide tip of the hat to farmers and other owners of agricultural operators, as well as those who work in the sector, and the Don Day Agribusiness and Bioscience Scholarship will be presented. The winners of the 2025 Friend of Youth and 2025 Agriculturalist of the year awards will also be recognized.

Banquets and other events recognize the contribution of individuals and organizations alike. Certificates and custom designed awards can be crafted by companies that prepare personalized corporate gifts.

This celebration will be held on Thursday, March 20. Its listing on the Chamber’s website provides a list of its sponsors and other supporters. It is scheduled to start at 5:30 pm. Jamie Martin, the contact person for the gathering, can be reached at (573) 817-9119.
