Columbia residents who want to help put a smile on the face of a child are invited to be a part of this year’s Toys for Tots initiative, which is organized through the support of the Marine corps.
This year’s event will be collecting both toys and monetary donations, and is being administered by Ms. M. Barnes. The planners noted that last year, almost 11,000 children benefited from the program, and both the toys and monies raised stayed in the local area.
Members of the public who would like to participate in this program can drop off a new toy that has not been wrapped yet at anyone of the collection stations soon to be set up throughout the city. Those who would prefer to donate money can choose to make a one-time or recurring contribution, and these can be made through the Toys for Tots secure website.
A toy drive like this makes it easy for the public to spread holiday cheer to those who may not be as fortunate as they are. A poster printing company can create the materials used to decorate the donation stations, which will both make them easy to spot and encourage people to make a contribution.
The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Columbia for the Missouri Support area will be accepting donations from the public throughout November. A full listing of the drop-off locations and a secure portal for anyone who would like to make a cash contribution can be found on the function's website.
