Afternoon of horticultural learning to be hosted by Columbia Public Library

Columbia gardeners who want to get a jump start on the 2020 horticultural season are invited to be part of an afternoon set to be hosted by the Columbia Public Library. It will be presented thanks to support from the Discovery Garden Club, and all adults are invited.

The library will be welcoming two presenters for this event, and they will both offer tips and insight into gardening in the local area. The audience will be able to learn how plants, animals and the rest of the natural world interact, and they can also discover how they can become good stewards of their local environment.

Jenna Rozum, who is the display designer for the Mizzou Botanic Garden as well as the University of Missouri, will be joining with horticulture field expert Robert Balek to facilitate the workshop. It can be a learning opportunity for the gardening public and can inspire them to use sustainability as the watchword when planning their own beds.

This two-hour offering is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm. Handouts, including lists of native plants that can be successfully grown in the home garden, can be prepared for this sort of occasion by Stationery printers in the area.

Columbia Public Library has scheduled this horticultural activity for the afternoon of January 26. It can be found at 100 West Broadway.
