U-pick apples available at Princeton farm
Princeton residents have the opportunity to get back to nature with a trip to J.Q. Fruit Farm & Orchard to pick their own apples.
Located at 8082 33rd Street, Princeton, J.Q. Farm offers a variety of seasonal fruits for picking. Right now, it is prime apple season, with a number of apple varieties currently available and more on the way.
Ready to pick as of September 20 are Honey Crisp, Haralson, Sweet 16, Chestnut Crab, and State Fair with a limited number of Zestar and Snappy Macs. Coming on and ready for picking soon will be Honeygold and Northwest Greenings.
Weather permitting, guests can bring their own picnic lunch and spread a blanket to enjoy it at the far end of the orchard. Plus, a few tables outside the orchard are available on a first come first serve basis.
Visitors to the farm are reminded that the farm’s wagons are for transporting apples from the fields for those picking large quantities. Parents should bring their own strollers and wagons for their children. Banner printing can be used to help with signage at events like this.
Baskets for picking and bags for taking the fruit home will be provided; please do not bring your own. The farm is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm. There is a minimum of ½ a peck of apples for picking, with no entrance fee for the orchard.
