The festival, which takes place this June, will mark the first time the colossal quacker has visited a city in Minnesota outside its hometown of Duluth. According to the duck’s owner, Princeton residents will be pleasantly surprised at the large number of people who flock to see the duck, saying it will have a significant economic impact on the community.
Banner printing services are useful in promoting community events.
Kim Young, the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism’s director, explained what a great tie-in Mama Duck will be for the event, pointing out:
“We have rubber ducks literally in our logo at the chamber, and for the Rum River Festival, we do the Lucky Duck Race. There’s always something to do with rubber ducks at our festival.”
The Chamber also wants businesses to participate in ‘Paint the Town Yellow’ in conjunction with the Rum River Festival, with extra promotions for this year’s duck races. One idea that has been floated is to hide ducks around the community.
The 2024 Rum River Festival’s theme is ‘Duck, Duck, Big Duck’ and will take place June 6 to 9, with the six-story tall Mama Duck on public display June 7 to 9.
