The Edina Community Foundation will be bringing back its annual 4th of July Parade, with accompanying events throughout the day.
The traditional Independence Day procession will contain floats, bands, and cars representing local community groups and institutions. Parades like this typically use banner printing and signage to help identify the participating groups. Following the parade, there will be an eye-catching fireworks display in the evening. The First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band will be performing classic songs in the lead-up to the fireworks, and there will also be food trucks on hand for those looking to grab a bite to eat.
The Community Foundation will also be organizing a Veterans Dinner two days prior to pay tribute to military veterans in the Edina area. The event includes music, speeches and food for veterans and their family, with musical performances from the Independence Day Brass Band. Many veterans participate in the parade and use the dinner to prepare for parade day. After a successful first edition last year, the Edina Dash will also be returning, with runners able to sprint down 50th Street in front of cheering crowds before the event. Proceeds from the sprint will go towards the Community Foundation and the Edina Give and Go.
The 2025 Edina Veterans Dinner will take place on July 2, with the Parade and fireworks taking place at 50th Street and Rosland Park respectively on the 4th of July itself.
