Film festival to expand to Edina

The Twin Cities Film Festival, which has brought new and rare films to Minneapolis for the last fifteen years, will be expanding its operations to Edina this fall.

The festival programming will feature a selection of independent and international films, including feature movies, documentaries and shorts, as well as select upcoming major studio productions. The film line-up is selected by a jury through an application process. Films are grouped together in thematic series, including “Changemaker”, “Code Red” and “MN-Connected.”

In addition to the films, there will be a number of educational panels on the technique and history of film making. The festival will also be hosting a Festival Lounge at the Shops at West End in St. Louis Park in Minneapolis. The lounge will include sponsored food, drink, and activities, with different programming on each night.

The festival is run by a nonprofit organization that also holds industry events throughout the year. Festivals like this are often a way for film industry professionals to meet, with Business Cards and social media handles often changing hands. Film screenings often also involve question-and-answer sessions with the filmmakers afterwards

The 2025 Twin Cities Film Fest will take place at the Edina Mann Theatre and Marcus West End Cinema from October 16 to 25. Festival passes and combo deals are available as well as individual tickets.
