Edina to feature trivia showdown

Top trivia players from across the Twin Cities region will gather in Edina this month to face off in the Initials Game Live Tournament of Champions.

This will be the inaugural edition of the competition, which brings together over 100 winners from past Initials Game Live events hosted in bars, restaurants and other public spots throughout Minnesota. Players will compete for more than $1,000 in cash prizes, with additional prizes for the highest single-item scores and funniest wrong answers.

The Initials Game tests trivia knowledge and quick thinking. Players are asked to identify a set of items with the same initials based on a series of clues, with points awarded for the fastest answers. While the standard game is open to individuals and teams, the championship is a strictly individual affair. The tournament will feature five rounds with breaks in between and a different host for each round.

The overall winner will go to the KFAN Initials Invitational later in the year. A limited number of tickets is also available for family, friends, and other spectators. Trivia events like this are often a popular attraction at bars and taverns, with poster printing and social media used to attract locals looking to test their wits and knowledge.

The inaugural Initials Game Live Tournament of Champions will take place at the Wooden Hill Brewing Company in Edina next Saturday, June 27.
