Fitness event to be held in Edina

Two local companies from Edina, Minnesota will be working together to bring the community a one-of-a-kind fitness event this July.

The event will introduce attendees to high intensity interval training (HIIT) which will target the abs, cardio, and strength. This class is put together by BaseCamp Fitness and Crisp & Green. Both businesses offer health and fitness services. BaseCamp is a workout program, while Crisp & Green is a restaurant offering healthy foods on-the-go. The sessions will be led by Coach Karlie of BaseCamp Fitness.

High-intensity interval exercise focuses on using sustained movements for a dedicated period of time. The aim with this is to raise the heart rate to almost twice its resting pace, which can last for 20 to 30 minutes. This is followed by a short period of rest, then another set of consistently intense movements with the same goal. HIIT is thought to contribute to increased stamina, strength, and concentration.

The workshop will give attendees the opportunity to practice these under the guidance of an experienced instructor. Guests are to bring their own yoga mats, towels, and water. They will each receive a complimentary bottle of Agua Fresca at the event's conclusion. The classes are free for all to attend.

Poster printing can be an inventive method to give information to attendees at events such as this. The sessions will run from July 10 to 12 at Crisp and Green Edina, beginning at 10:30 am.
