Edina area convention to go unplugged

2D Con Unplugged will make its return to Minnesota this January, hoping to bring gamers together for a weekend of old-fashioned play.

Marketed as a “tabletop gaming vacation”, the convention will feature board games, card games and tabletop roleplaying. The convention floor will feature a library of over 1000 games available for play. Attendees can also bring their own games and find a group to play with. Attendees can also host a room party with a theme, food and drinks, keeping the party going late into the night.

The convention is limited to 400 attendees with few scheduled activities to avoid overcrowding and create the atmosphere of a closeknit “winter vacation.”

There will be some scheduled drafts and tournaments for collectible trading card games. Attendees are often encouraged to dressed up in their favourite gaming-related costumes, or cosplay. The convention also offers merchandise in the form of shirts and exclusive trading cards to collect at the event.

Conventions and other recurring events often use Promotional Products like this to let people represent the event and build awareness for the next edition. The event will be hosted in Bloomington and looking to attract game lovers from nearby areas like Edina and Minneapolis.

The 2025 2DCon Unplugged will take place from January 31 to February 2 at the Doubletree Bloomington in Minnesota.
