This October, the Edina area’s “Oya Arts” will be offering a special Halloween take on their “paint and sip” events, with visitors using their artistic abilities to solve a spooky mystery.
The event, “Voices in the Dark: A Haunted Paint and Sip Mystery” will transport visitors back to 1900 and task them with unravelling a long-forgotten mystery. Each attendee will be assigned a unique character and given the chance to solve mysteries through painting, with all art supplies provided. Artists of all skill levels and experience are welcome. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes or garb reminiscent of the turn of the century, with the horror-themed atmosphere emphasized in marketing copy:
“As the night deepens, so does the suspense, leaving you breathless and eager to uncover the final truth. By the end of the night, you won't just leave with a painting; you'll take home a tale that lingers long after.”
The event is one of Oya’s themed “paint and sip” events which encourages visitors from nearby areas like Edina and St. Paul to dip their toes into art while eating, drinking, and relaxing. Art events like this typically use colorful poster printing and eye-catching social media posts to help attract people looking for a new experience. Food and drink will be provided from Channa Caribbean Kitchen.
“Voices in the Dark” will take place on October 26 at Oya Arts’ studio in Minneapolis.
