Clothing swap to return to Edina

The City of Edina will be holding its fourth annual clothing swap this April, encouraging residents to recycle and reuse their old clothing.

There will be a drop-off period during the two days prior to the event, where anyone can drop off their used clothing for donations. Clothing of all types, sizes, and ages is welcome, with this year’s event including special collections for Halloween costumes, running shoes, and bras. Residents and anyone else can come on the day of the swap to take what they want and find a new style or replace a torn item. There will also be a donation bin for non-perishable food items, which will be collected by Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People.

The clothing swap is supported by volunteer efforts and City staff. There will be representatives from local non-profit organizations explaining activities that Edina residents can take to help encourage environmental sustainability. Organizations often use displays and flyer printing at events like this to more effectively communicate information. Twila Singh, Edina’s Organics Recycling Coordinator, explained the motivation behind the shop:

“Reuse, repair and rethinking our choices is what cultivates the respect of our future children. This event is one of the most fun ways to participate in the change you wish to see.”

The 2025 Edina Community Clothing Swap will take place on Thursday, April 24 at the Backyard Rink of Braemer Arena.
