Special expo planned for Chanhassen

Seniors in Chanhassen have an event coming up just for them.

The 55+ Expo 2023 will be held at the Chanhassen Rec Center. The organizers of this event are providing information to older residents to help them improve their health, lifestyle, and plan for active aging. The current schedule is still being updated, so anyone interested is urged to keep an eye out for added information.

Currently, the plans include kicking off the expo at 9:30 am with free coffee, donuts, and rolls. All morning long, the Community Room will house representatives from community and area organizations who provide information and services to this age group.

The morning hours will also find Tech Partners in attendance, who will help seniors with technical issues, and Carver County Library representatives will be on hand to help people set up an account. Woodcarving and Mah Jongg demonstrations are planned, and attendees will be able to have their ear health checked for free, courtesy of HEARtoday.

The morning also brings demonstrations of the Pedgo eBike, though this is weather dependent as it takes place outside.

At 10:00 am, there will be a presentation by Southern Minnesota Legal Aid, and at 11.30 am, attendees will hear from Lakewinds, a local food co-op.

The Expo is scheduled for October 4, from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees, providing a schedule. There is no admission charge for the expo.
