Cover band returns to perform acoustic Chanhassen show

A music group who had enormous success playing acoustic shows will be back in Chanhassen soon to do it again.

The Fabulous Armadillos got together in 2006 and soon gained a following by performing accurate covers from bands in all genres. The group comprises musicians who met when they were playing “themed” concerts in St. Cloud. The performances had themes such as “Stadium Rock,” “Motown,” “Woodstock,” “One Hit Wonders”, and other and similar topics. They continued to play themed evenings, and now have done hundreds of these performances through the Midwest, even taking their the show to Mexico. From there, it seemed like a natural segue into doing cover songs, which is now the Famous Armadillos’ specialty.

They cover artists like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Eagles, and many others. During their tenure, they realized that bands like Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Boston, and Kansas had numerous songs that heavily featured acoustic guitars. During the 2022-2023 season, the Armadillos performed acoustic numbers from these acts that were hugely popular, and the response was so enthusiastic they are planning to do it again.

The “Acoust-I-Dillos 2 – Acoustic Inspired Hits Over the Decades” performance is scheduled for April 18-20, at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. When organizers plan events like this, they will often work with professional Print shops using brochure printing to create informative programs for audience members.
