“Christmas on the Prairie” is returning for the fifth year, bringing together some of Minnesota’s favorite musicians, including singers Boyd Lee, Aimée Lee, and Mary Jane Alm. They will be joined by Peter Johnson, Joe Savage, Gary Raynor, and Richard Kriehn, who were regulars with Prairie Home Companion. The special guest for the show is Pat Donohue, a Grammy-winning guitarist/singer.
The weekly variety radio show “A Prairie Home Companion,” was created by Garrison Keillor, who hosted it from its inception in 1974 until 2016. The show was broadcast live every Saturday from St. Paul’s Fitzgerald Theater, with the final broadcast in 2020. The best-known segment was Keillor’s “News from Lake Wobegon.”
Pat Donohue, who was also with Prairie Home Companion, started playing the guitar at 12, learning from videos and by asking questions of some of the great “fingerpicking” guitarists, like Big Joe Williams. He played in a garage band as a teen, and never looked back from there as he moved into a full-time career.
Attendees at the show can expect to hear standards like “Run Run Rudolph”, “O Holy Night”, “Sleigh Ride”, and many others. A review says:

The show is in the Fireside Theatre at the Chanhassen Theatres, on December 21, 22, and 23. When events like this are planned, organizers can use brochure printing to create programs for the audience to view.
