Residents of Chanhassen have a chance to enjoy a day out in nature soon.
Arbor Day is coming up, and Chanhassen residents are invited to celebrate the occasion by planting trees. The site of the work is Curry Farms Park, and the new trees will help improve the appearance and health of the park. Trees will provide shade for people visiting the park, as well as helping to keep the air clean. They will also be gorgeous additions to the area. The planting is a volunteer event where participants will learn why having a diverse number of trees is important, and how they improve their surroundings.
Although there are many ways to observe Arbor Day, planting trees is one of the best. Event organizers also suggest waking in the woods to honor the occasion and note there are many trails in Chanhassen leading through lovely forests. While people take a walk, they could observe the trees and try to spot species they do not know, using the occasion to learn more.
The tree planting will take place May 7, from 9.00 am until 10.00 am, at Curry Farms Park on Stratton Court. Everyone who takes part will receive gifts to say thank you, free seedlings, and refreshments. Organizers remind them to dress for the weather as this is a rain or shine event. Organizers of events like this could use flyer printing to create handouts for participants, explaining how to accomplish their task.
