All about Oz near Chanhassen

The Westonka Community Theatre will present The Wizard of Oz later this month in the brand new Westonka Performing Art Center.

The venue is located in Minnetrista, about 13 miles from Chanhassen. Attendees from across the neighboring communities often attend these performances.

The popular production is in its third season and is family friendly, so is ideal for all ages. The characters from the famed story will be brought to life on stage as Dorothy embarks on her adventure from Kansas past the rainbow.

Auditions for the cast began a few months ago and were finalized in early June. Rehearsals are taking place at the performing arts center at the local high school. Musicians and volunteers may also apply for participation in the Westonka Community Theatre via the venue website.

Posters are effective and affordable tools for advertising upcoming events. The poster printing often includes information about the performance, location, date and time and incorporates using colorful images and graphics. The Wizard of Oz will take place July 23 to 25 and July 30 to August 1. Tickets for the popular production will be sold online and not at the door.
