What's Happening in Chanhassen, MN…

Chanhassen is going all-out to celebrate the nation’s independence this year.

The city is having a four-day blast, with dozens of events planned. Things kick off on July 1st with the farmer’s market and an outdoor extravaganza that includes live music, MIW Wrestling, and specials on food and drink.

On July 2, the highlights include a family carnival, and a performance by Tricia and the Toonies. Their performances are a mix of colorful puppets, music, and audience participation. Their comedy is kind and designed to appeal to children especially.

On July 3, the Minnesota Twins will hold their Youth Baseball Clinic at the Chanhassen High School. The clinic is free, but registration is required. This is also the day of the Kiddie Parade.

A roaming vaudeville troupe called The Medicine Show will perform in City Center Park, and the Llama Experience will also be on hand. The highlight of this day is likely to be the Taste of Chanhassen, where local restaurants and food trucks will be serving their best offerings. Live music on July 3rd includes Up South Band and the Johnny Holm Band.

Then, Friday brings the 4th of July Parade and fireworks display. There are dozens of other events planned, including a sand sculpture contest, classic car show, and street dance. The venues are scattered throughout the city, so organizers could use flyer printing to create handouts including a map and list of activities at each location.
