Zoo goes wild for Halloween

Burnsville locals can take a short drive over to the Minnesota Zoo for a seasonal event for all ages.

For two weekends, the HallZooWeen festivities will take over the zoo grounds. Animals will be given special Halloween treats to enjoy. The human guests can get some treats too. Guests can make their way through the hay maze or get up close and personal with some animals for photographs.

Kids can have their faces painted, listen to a story, or take a ride on the Conservation ‘Scarousel’. In addition, attendees can watch the Skeleton Dive Performance, where staff members scuba dive with sea creatures in a huge aquarium. There will also be a bird show and an apple press demonstration.

There will be hands-on activities such as crafts and opportunities to take part in an animal encounter. Banners will likely be displayed around the park to welcome attendees to this special event. Sponsors’ names and logos are often included on banners.

Admission to the zoo costs $12 for kids, between the ages of 3 and 12, and seniors. Admission for adults costs $18. Little ones under 3 are free. Parking costs $7 for cars and $10 for buses.

The event will be held on October 24 and 25, along with October 30 and 31. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes.

The Minnesota Zoo is located on 13000 Zoo Boulevard in Apple Valley.
