The 28th annual Original Mattress Factory Bed Race for Bridging will be held at Buck Hill in Burnsville next month.
Groups of four people will take to the snowy slopes aboard queen bed mattresses to race down the hill in support of charity. The teams will each raise a minimum of $600 in advance of the event, which will benefit Bridging, a non-profit organization that provides home furnishings for those less fortunate. This year, the aim is to raise a total of $160,000.
Bridging supports people who are transitioning from homelessness to being housed, by offering furniture and household goods that have been donated to the organization. The nonprofit was created in 1987 and since then has supported about 115,000 households in the Twin Cities area.
Participants, many of them dressed in costumes, will be provided mattresses for three races down the hill and the opportunity to win prizes and enjoy an after-race party.
The fastest teams, best costumes, and top fundraisers will be recognized, while all participants will receive a commemorative gift.
Charitable groups that organize fundraisers such as this often require printing services to help advertise their event.
The Original Mattress Factory Bed Race at Buck Hill in Burnsville will be held February 28, 2026. Registration opens at 4 pm and races start at 6 pm. Further information is available on the Bridging website.
