Fall days bring their own set of garden chores, and a virtual event will help Burnsville gardeners to make the most of this time in the horticultural calendar.
The Daffodil Society of Minnesota engages in a variety of activities each year, and this autumn, it has made plans to offer a workshop that will provide an introduction to the art and science of growing daffodils and other bulbs, corms, and tubers that flower in the spring. Tickets are $5, and as it will be held online, the attendees will be able to join in from wherever they can find a wi-fi connection.
The learners will find out how to determine which species are the best choice for their location and microclimate, and they will also discover how proper horticultural techniques can lead to the best results. Bed design, companion planting, and other care tips will be shared, and there will also be information provided about how bulbs spread over the years to fill in an area, and can then be divided to grow in different beds or even shared with a gardening friend.
While a workshop like this may take place online, the attendees often still appreciate receiving hard Copies of the learning materials used. These may be sourced from a brochure printing company.
The Daffodil Society of Minnesota will be hosting this virtual activity on September 18. Everyone is asked to be logged in by no later than 10:00 am.
