Locals to experience multicultural event

Burnsville residents can take part in a free cultural event in just a few days’ time.

The International Festival of Burnsville offers food, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

Live entertainment includes a Mongolian circus, ballroom and Latin dancing, and dance theater. Vendors will be selling a wide variety of different cultural food. A roving performer on stilts will entertain attendees too.

In the Ames Center, there will be cultural and art exhibits, along with artist meet and greets. Art exhibits will include photographs, watercolors, pottery, and cultural pieces.

For a small fee, children can receive henna tattoos, get their faces painted, or have their hair braided. Free activities include a family craft, Japanese origami, and balloon art. To help promote the event, printing companies could make colorful Flyers to distribute around the community.

During the event, there will be a raffle. Prizes include a round trip airline ticket, golf prizes, and gift cards. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Burnsville City Hall during weekdays from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.

The festival will take place this Saturday, July 11, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Nicollet Commons Park, located on 12550 Nicollet Avenue. The meet and greet with the artists will take place from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The raffle will be held at 8:00 pm, but individuals do not have to be present to win.
