What's Happening in Burnsville, MN…

Flavors, music and art from around world at Burnsville festival

Next month’s International Festival of Burnsville (IFB) will celebrate the cultural diversity within the city.

The IFB has been held since 2006 and each year features music and dance as well as a range of children’s activities. The free Kids’ Village will include face painting, crafts, African hair braiding, origami, games and more. In addition, children will receive free books through a program that encourages reading.

The festival opens with a parade of flags representing the countries of the Main Stage performers, including Columbia, Ireland, Japan, the Caribbean, Ethiopia, Peru and others. Vendors will be on hand preparing food from around the world and there will be an international drink station offering an array of beverages.

In conjunction with its festival, the IFB also presents the 14th annual summer-long Cultural Perspectives art show. The exhibition is entitled How Art Speaks to Us and will include two-and-three-dimensional artworks.

The IFB is made possible due to area sponsors who receive exposure to as many as 5000 festival visitors. Businesses who sponsor events such as this often seek out graphic design services to enhance their brand recognition.

The International Festival of Burnsville will take place July 19, 2025 from 3-9 pm at Nicollet Commons Park. The art exhibit will be held in the nearby Ames Center Art Gallery and will continue through September 15, 2025.
