Big Brothers/Big Sisters, an organization that helps provide kids with a range of activities and supports, has planned a frozen fundraiser for Burnsville to help meet its expenses.
The group has organized the Ice Fishing 4 BIGS, which is open to all ages. Advanced registration is required and those who participate are encouraged to follow catch-and-release practices.
The attendees at the fundraiser will have the ice holes drilled for them, and everyone will be able to warm up with the refreshments provided in the heated tent. The registration fee for adults is $20, and a fishing license is required. Kids 15 and under can participate for $10, and do not need to have a license. First and second place prizes will be awarded for kids and adults, and a raffle will take place as well. It was noted that, should the event have to be canceled due to weather or poor ice conditions, the registrants will be informed ahead of time.
Catching fish on a frozen lake or pond offers a way to keep active even in the winter months. Organizers of fishing derbies will be able to order prize certificates, Promotional Products, and poster printing services from an area printer.
This frosty fundraiser will be held on February 26, and it will run from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. It is scheduled to take place at Crystal Lake West.
