Burnsville residents are invited to show their holiday spirit and take part in the city’s annual winter lighting contest.
The event is sponsored through a partnership between the Dakota Electric Association and the Burnsville Convention & Visitors’ Bureau. The public is encouraged to take part by decorating using LED lights, as they save electricity and keep their power costs down.
The categories that are open are for single-family dwellings, neighborhoods and condos, apartments and townhome complexes as a whole. The winners will be chosen based on how impressive their display is, as well as how it enhances the area surrounding it, and also how much creativity was used in the overall plan and design of the display. A company that prints business Forms can design and produce nomination sheets to be filled out by those who wish to recommend themselves or someone else to win the contest.
Those who want to nominate someone to win the contest can do so by submitting their completed nomination form, along with a photo of the display, to the Burnsville Convention & Visitors’ Bureau no later than December 11. Its board of directors will review all of the entries, and the winners will be announced during the meeting of the Burnsville City Council, which is scheduled on December 22.
Anyone who would like to find out more about the competition is invited to contact the Burnsville Convention & Visitors’ Bureau at 952-895-4690.
