Burnsville will soon be celebrating the birthday of a performer who called the area home, and the monies raised will help local youth break into the music industry.
The team at Skateville will be celebrating the legendary artist Prince’s birthday by holding its Purple Playground Gangster Glam Party. It will welcome the whole family, and the funds collected will be donated to Purple Playground. This initiative gives kids an opportunity to create and record their own music, and admission to the fundraiser starts at $7 for kids, $10 for teens, and $19.99 for adults.
This high-energy celebration will see the guests dance or skate to music spun by a DJ, and many of the tunes will be performed and recorded by students at the Academy of Prince. Food and beverages may be purchased on site, and door prize draws and other fun are the agenda.
To help raise even more funds and get the word out about the cause, an assortment of branded merchandise that features a special graphic design will be for sale. The attendees will also have an opportunity to learn how their support will make a difference.
This afternoon of fun with friends and family will begin at 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 11. The activity will be taking place at 201 River Ridge Cir S, Burnsville.
