A local initiative that invites nature into the classroom has put a call out to the public seeking support. A Burnsville area activity can help to ensure this program will continue to be offered, providing a great reason to get moving.
All of the profits form the 2020 Urban Wildland Half Marathon and 5K will be donated to the Wood Lake Nature Center to help fund its partnership with Richfield Public Schools. It was first held back in 2003, and was such a success, it has been scheduled yearly ever since.
Each participant in the day will receive a finisher’s medal to thank them for their help. Race shirts that sport a special graphic design will also be distributed at the finish line, and race packets will be available ahead of the function. The course followed will be flat and wind through both natural areas and residential neighborhoods.
When planning a fundraiser like this, it can be helpful to have Print shops prepare oversized photos that show how the funds raise will be put to use in the community. These can be displayed at both the start and finish line, and can help to build community awareness of the activity.
