Knowing how to perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can save a life in an emergency, and an upcoming session planned for Burnsville will give people training in this important technique.
Dakota County Emergency Medical Services, the Burnsville Mobile Volunteer Network, and the Burnsville Fire Department have joined forces to provide a CPR workshop where the public can learn how to use this skill should someone suffer a cardiac arrest.
The session is being offered as part of the ‘Burnsville Heart Restart: Who Will YOU Save?’ campaign, which seeks to equip at least 6,000 individuals with the ability to use this lifesaving technique. In an effort to reach this goal, the fire department will be offering this one-hour session free of charge. It will also be supplying the course materials for those who take part. A printing services provider will be able to use comb binding and other techniques to create manuals for a workshop such as this.
The class, which is open to people of any age, will be held on January 18 in Burnsville City Hall, which is located at 100 Civic Center Parkway. It will run from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm.
