Burnsville race to offer winter fun

Winter may sound like an odd time of the year for a fundraising race, but a Burnsville event is set to take full advantage of the season.

A variety of community initiatives will benefit from the Bedrace for Bridging at Buck Hill, an event which will see teams of four co-workers, friends, or family members take to the slopes for a race with a twist. Registration for the event is free, and all that’s required is for each team to raise at least $400.00 for the fundraiser.

The racers will take to the slopes in fun costumes, and will ride down the hills on actual queen-sized mattresses, which will be supplied by the company, Bridging. It is intended to be fun and friendly competition, with plenty of bragging rights on offer for the winners. The excitement will open in the afternoon with registration, before the race begins at 5pm.

Organizing an out-of-the-box fundraiser may include choosing marketing materials and other supplies that are just as quirky. Print shops will be happy to help, and can perform a variety of graphic design work in advance.
