Those who take part in a frosty fishing fundraiser planned for Burnsville will be doing a good turn for local kids and having fun at the same time.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities will be the charity of choice for the ice fishing derby planned for Crystal Lake West. It is open to all ages, and kids are welcome to participate with their parents or guardians.
The registrants for the day are invited to bring along their own gear, and poles and other equipment will be provided if needed. The ice holes will be drilled ahead of time by the organizers so everyone can get hit the ground running. Bait, snacks, warm drinks, and space in a heated tent will all be on offer, and advance registration will be greatly appreciated.
While the derby is intended to be a fun competition, prizes will be awarded for kids and adults who land the biggest and second largest fish. A raffle is on the agenda for the occasion as well.
