Burnsville company stands out at recent trade show

A Burnsville based entrepreneur recently showcased her innovation at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and was noted by the Wall Street Journal as being the ‘Best of CES’.

Lisa Lavin, who developed a device that allows video chats between pets and their owners, has set up Anser Innovation and, up until now, has mostly promoted her product at trade shows aimed at them. Choosing to go to Las Vegas was a big step, as it is not her usual niche market.

Lavin noted that, in order to be a success, it was important to do both specialized events and those geared to a more general audience as well. She further went on to say the company has made updates to its current product, and introduced a new one as well.

Anser Innovations was one of about 25 from the state that joined 3,600 exhibitors form all over the world at the electronics show. Lavin hoped to catch the eye of tech journalists and anyone else who attended the function. Her hook was that she gave a live demonstration of how she could call home to her poodle named Hattie. She showed how the video screen allowed for actual interaction, and she could even give the dog a treat via long distance.
