The International Festival of Burnsville is taking place next month.
The festival celebrates those of the many cultures that make the city home. Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of international foods, take in performances from artists such as Tiyumba, the Native Pride Dancers, and Jeffrey Ray and the Stakes. Another option will be to visit the ‘Bringing Heritage Home’ art exhibition or scour local vendors’ tents to find a unique item to take home with them.
There will be plenty of children's activities during the day as well, including henna hands, face painting, and art activities.
There is currently a call for artists to take part in the ‘Bringing Heritage Home’ exhibition, which will be on display until August. Artists apply by answering four questions about their art work and providing a photograph. Those who are chosen will be invited to attend an artists’ reception to be held prior to the festival.
The Burnsville vendors who plan to participate in the festival may decide to make their tents more attractive to visitors by investing in services like banner printing.
The International Festival of Burnsville will be held in Nicollet Commons Park on July 12 from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Admission is free. The reception will take place on July 10 beginning at 6:00 pm. To find out more about the festival, or how to submit artwork, call 612-308-9038.
