Burnsville ballet to feature Beauty and the Beast
The Twin Cities Ballet (TCB) of Minnesota will bring the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast to the stage in Burnsville next month.
Beauty and the Beast is a centuries-old story of a prince under a curse as a beast who can only be cured by true love which he finds in Belle. It was first written as a fairy tale by a French novelist in 1740. In 1991, it was released by Walt Disney Pictures as an animated romantic film which was highly successful at the box office. It was subsequently adapted into a Broadway musical and remained on stage for 13 years.
As one of the top professional ballet companies in the state, TCB adds creativity and originality to traditional full-length ballet stories, often incorporating new choreography, costumes, lighting and even music. In fact, their production of Beauty and the Beast includes an original music score. Performing groups such as this often use poster printing to advertise their productions.
TCB is a non-profit organization dedicated to making ballet fun and inclusive. As such, it offers sensory-relaxed performances for those with sensitivities. TCB also does outreach work, offering education to schools and arts groups to increase public exposure to ballet.
Beauty and the Beast will be presented at the Ames Center in Burnsville from May 9 to May 11, 2025. Further information is available on the TCB website.
