Police dogs provide a valuable service to their human companions, and they can be helpful in a variety of situations. This symposium, which be focused on the use of K-9 units, will explore how they can be utilized following guidelines and other policies in the jurisdiction in which they are deployed. The Eden Prairie Police Department has joined with the Red Team Police K-9 Consulting to host the day, and it promises to be an educational experience for all who attend.
An assortment of facilitators with experience in the laws surrounding the use of K-9s will present to the crowd. They will address topics ranging from the evolution of K-9 use and training, to bite injury mitigation and a discussion of the administrative review process. Once the lecture is over, the presenters will remain available to answer questions from the delegates.
A day of training like this can provide a lot of information in a relatively small amount of time. Having manuals prepared by Print shops to give to each of the participants at the end of the day can allow them to continue their learning even after the conference has ended.
