An additional gift of $40m has been given to the University of Michigan (U-M) by Kenneth Eisenberg. This will be used to support the first facility of Michigan medicine in Oakland County.
Its name will be the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg Troy Center for Specialty Care in honor of Eisenberg and Frances, his late wife. Some of the funding will also be used to support research for mental health through a center at U-M that is already established and bears the name of the husband and wife. Funding for such facilities may be of benefit to those in nearby Shelby Township.
The new multidisciplinary clinical facility will be at the intersection of Coolidge and West Big Beaver Roads at what was once the headquarters of Kmart. This facility will enhance access to specialty clinical services provided at the university for patients in the county and across southeast Michigan. Reproductive medicine, musculoskeletal/sports medicine, and advanced cancer care services are some of the programs planned for the facility, in addition to therapeutic and diagnostic services, an infusion suite, imaging services, and a procedure and ambulatory surgery center.
Such new facilities can benefit from brochure printing to provide more details and information about the services to be provided.
The facility is expected to open in the spring of 2027.
