South Portland workshop to introduce floral wines

While many are already familiar with wine made from grapes, they may not be as conversant with ones crafted from flowers or other fruit, but an upcoming workshop may change that.

A class that will explore the world of fruit- and flower-based wines will soon be held near South Portland. It will be a lecture-style activity, and the attendees will walk away with a better understanding of the process of fermentation.

The group will be walked through the winemaking process, including what supplies they will need to have on hand. They will find out which flowers, such as dandelions, are good choices for winemaking, and they will also learn the basics of ethical forging so they can get started right away when they start blooming.

Questions will be encouraged, and the runtime for the workshop is two hours. Tickets to take a seat are available for $35 each.

Those who participate in lectures often want to gather as much information as they can. Stationery printers will be pleased to prepare handouts for distribution during an educational activity, and they can also supply promotional Pens and other swag.

The Making Wine from Fruit and Flowers session will be on offer for the area’s epicurious on May 10. It will be taking place at 196 Allen Avenue in Portland.
