South Portland celebration salutes its pollinators
The South Portland area is set to kick off its summer celebration schedule with an activity that will show some love to some of its hardest-working creatures.
Bees Knees Week is set to make its return to the community, and it brings together cocktail lovers, bartenders, and those with an interest in environmental stewardship. Attendees will be coming in from across the country, and they will all be supporting local populations of pollinators. All proceeds will be donated to the activity's charity of choice.
As part of the celebration, a special mixology class will be on offer that will teach how to prepare three different cocktails, and everyone who attends will have the chance to do some taste testing. The menu includes Tom Cat Old Fashioned, a classic gin and tonic, and a Bee’s Knees. A raw honey tasting is also on the agenda, and an appearance by some special guests has been hinted at.
More people are developing an interest in environmental stewardship and advocacy, and attending an event focused on the topic can help them to get started. A brochure printing company can prepare informational materials to distribute during an educational activity.
This toast to some of South Portland's most important insects will be on offer on Friday, June 20 at 495 Forest Avenue. The sipping will start at 4:00 pm.
