Lending Mother Nature a helping hand need not be complicated, and a South Portland area workshop series will show how easy it can be.
Even if all they have is a pot on their condo or apartment’s balcony, everyone can grow a garden that supports wildlife and species diversity. The weekly Landscaping 101 mini course will give people the basic skills they need to get started.
The session will cover a variety of topics that may be of interest to container gardeners, and everyone will walk away knowing how to prepare and care for a plant that will attract butterflies, moths, bees, and other pollinators. They will learn how to choose plants that offer plenty of nectar and pollen.
The registration fee being charged is $79 per attendee. It will be on offer in person at Scarborough High School.
Public workshops give people an opportunity to keep on learning along with others who are also interested in the topic at hand. Copies of handouts and other materials for a session like this can be prepared by a local printing services company.
South Portland residents who would like to get started with small scale gardening are welcome to attend this learning opportunity. It is set to get started on April 24, and runs on Wednesdays for four weeks.Get a Free Quote for Copies
