Maine SNAP-ED and the Immigrant Welcome Center of Greater Portland have joined forces to host a class that will offer actionable tips and advice for shopping on a budget. It may be helpful for individuals, couples, and families alike.
During the one-hour activity, attendees will learn about ways they can save when they purchase their groceries. They will find out how to compare products so they can get the most value for their money, and they will also discover how to decode the product labels. Weighing produce will be discussed, and to help make the session more accessible to those for whom English is not their first language, an interpreter will be on hand. Details of the language(s) they can accommodate will be released at a later date.
Many people may appreciate an opportunity to learn how to save money with each grocery order. A printing services company can prepare materials like shopping lists, reusable cloth Totes, and other items than can make shopping easier. When custom printed, they may include a special graphic design.
