South Portland wine lovers will soon find themselves immersed in a week that will be all about the fruit of the vine, and its schedule is filled with activities planned with them in mind.
The local area will be greeting summer’s arrival with its annual Portland Wine Week festival. Its organizers say it will be a boutique-style occasion and both serious and casual wine lovers will find plenty of activities to choose from, so they can create a personalized experience.
The festivities will kick off with special opening day sessions, after which the agenda is filled with wine samples, dinners, classes, and organized tastings, and seminars will offer in-depth learning experiences. Many eateries will be joining in the fun by offering enhanced lists of vinos they have for sale, and there may even be unique menu options to sample. All of these are limited to those age 21 and up.
Wine tastings and other events organized for foodies may offer tasting glasses printed with a unique graphic design to their guests. These can serve as both souvenirs while also acting as marketing materials
The 2023 Portland Wine Week will begin on June 12, and it will wrap up for another year on June 19. It is being presented thanks to Wine Wise and its main sponsor is Bangor Savings.
