Kristine Carter Photography is offering a weekend retreat in the Jessup area this winter.
The retreat is designed to be both educational and inspirational. It will include lessons and hands-on photography and editing sessions. Participants will practice capturing different subjects, like landscapes and farm animals, at different times of the day to experience different lighting conditions. Editing sessions will cover technical skills like sharpening images and adjusting lines, as well as judgement-based skills like choosing the best photos from a shoot and deciding when to stop making edits. Instructors often work with Print shops to create handouts for this type of event.
Participants can sign up on the Inn at Mary’s Land Farm website. The full weekend program costs $485 per person. This includes five meals at the Inn and all of the retreat activities. The meals are dinner on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday dinner is not included. Accommodation at the Inn is a separate cost. Participants will receive a 20% discount on their rooms. A Saturday-only option is available for those who live locally, such as residents of Jessup or other neighboring towns. The Saturday program fee is $425 per person.
The Winter Wonderland Photography Retreat will run from Friday, January 23, to Sunday, January 25, at the Inn at Mary’s Land Farm in Ellicott City.
