Jessup Chamber to host small business conference

The Howard County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the County Executive and the Howard County Economic Development Authority to host a Small Business Summit this June.

The half-day conference will focus on the realities of running a small business at different stages. It will open with breakfast and time for networking. Conference attendees often exchange Business Cards during networking sessions. Welcome remarks and the keynote speech will begin at 8:00 am. The keynote will discuss relationship-building, including how to understand others’ personalities and communication styles, and ways to have better interactions with clients and colleagues.

This will be followed by two sets of breakout sessions. Participants can choose to attend a session on cybersecurity or on business lenders. After a short break, they can attend breakouts on storytelling or business succession planning. The summit will conclude with closing remarks and a drawing for the door prize winners.

Tickets are available on the Chamber’s website for $40 per person. It is open to professionals and small business owners in Jessup and any other towns in the area. Sessions are designed to be valuable for those at any stage of business ownership, from initial consideration to planning for retirement. The ticket price includes breakfast.

The Howard County Small Business Summit will be on Wednesday, June 17, from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm, at the Maryland Innovation Center.
